I grew up in Oceanside, New York on the south shore of Long Island just minutes from the ocean. I attended Oceanside schools until I graduated in 1974. I didn't attend college. I worked for several years training horses at New York's Belmont Race Track. In 1979, I took the New York City Firefighter test and was hired in June of 1983 as a Probationary firefighter. I then got married on September 15, 1989. I spent 22 yrs. on the job and retired in October of 2005 as a Lieutenant from Brooklyn Engine Company 220. Only by the grace of God I survived the collapse of both towers of the World Trade Center...Now I spend most of my free time helping those that are less fortunate than myself.
I've won some awards for bravery from the FDNY. I have a great work ethic from the FDNY that would only help me in this business.
My first passion as a teenager was weight lifting. There were no such thing as a local gym back in 1971. So guys like myself got a bench, some free weights, and made an already crowded messy bedroom even worse. I played football and baseball in high school. I also played some semi pro football and baseball in my middle 20's. I traveled with the FDNY softball team around the country playing in all the major cities. I've been taking acting classes with Bruce Ornstein in NYC.. Bruce has been acting for 30 yrs and teaching for 10. He's best know for his part in "Saturday Night Fever" acting opposite John Travolta as Gus. ( Jumped from the bridge).
